The spec
Stainless steel underneath. Titanium nitride is the coating on cutting tools and watch cases: about 2,000 on the Vickers scale, ten times the steel under it. It is the layer that takes the wear. The gold on top carries the color.

The chain, the clasp and the plating are each made at a different factory. We set the standard for how they come together.
